CEO / President
Melissa became a licensed producer for the State of Tennessee in 1996. Her background studies are in business and accounting. She is faith oriented and has Christian beliefs. Melissa believes in community involvement. Benefits First is a Partner in Education with one of the Henderson County Schools and other systems. Melissa is a member of First Baptist Church (Lexington), West-Star, Chamber of Commerce (Past President), CASA of Henderson County, United Way, Carl Perkins Child Abuse Center and the National Association of Professional Women.
Agency Development Manager
Allison has been with Benefits First since February 2006 and has been a licensed insurance producer since March 2006. She is currently responsible for managing the day to day functions of the office along with quoting new products for current and prospective clients. She also provides administrative assistance to the President/CEO.
Customer Service Representative
Dana has been with Benefits First since March 2008. She became a licensed insurance producer in June 2008. Dana assists insureds with all aspects of the claims process for voluntary products. She handles filling, follow-up and resolution during the claim process to ease the burden for insureds during a difficult time.
Manager, Business Operations
Cathy joined the Benefits First team in October 2016 and became a licensed producer in December 2016. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Bethel University in 2009. Her background is in the manufacturing industry with an emphasis in systems analysis. She is currently responsible for the systems used for benefit management and our new HRIS product.
Margaret became the accountant for Benefits First, in April 2009. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Middle Tennessee State University in 1989. She is currently responsible for maintaining integrity of general ledger and chart of accounts, filing tax returns and preparing governmental reports, financial statements, account closing procedures, general ledger entries on a short schedule, analyzes and researches reporting issues to improve accounting operations procedures, creates periodic report comparing budgeted costs to actual costs, accounts payable, accounts receivable and balancing monthly general ledger accounts to accurately record cost and month end accruals.
